Here's how it used to look in case you have forgotten
Rear view from where the mobiles used to be to the "pond" steps and P.E store
Two storage buildings have been knocked down to make way for some useful shrubs !
Where have all the mobiles gone ? Security cameras don't scare our intrepid photographer Rob.
Metalwork and art. Kids no longer able to attend this once great school now come to vandalise the buildings and spray graffiti. From the looks of things they are only accelerating a sad downward spiral of neglect and decay.
Red Gra is now green Gra !
Art room has seen better days, now has gates to "the orchard" to stop the fights. Why was it called the orchard when there was no sign of any fruit trees ??
Notice the new disabled bays, then also notice the adjacent ramp that would allow wheelchair access is blocked off ! A sign of the times.
As above but from a different angle, did the same bright spark who put disabled bays next to a blocked off ramp also decide to close a perfectly good school ? No, but they are from the same mould.
Looks like the same bloke got a backhander from Coldseal Windows aswell.
Steps and gate down to old red gra, maintenance man take note !
Music to the left, dining room to the right, we used to slide down that handrail !
P.E. store to the right, steps up to "the pond" and the building with the yellow panels was the staff room. Don't park your Sinclair C5 in this space though !
The pond is now home to a giant spindly bush and the whole of this once significant area now sadly neglected.
Bill Hill's former chemistry class
Didn't that door used to be to the left ? Perhaps not ?
This way for "behind the bike sheds" action, did anyone get any ?
The steps of doom, which meant you were in for some form of outdoor games in the cold.
Back end of the science block
If you came out of the door at the back of the science block this would have been your view although Mr Stacey's electronics mobile to the left which has now gone.
View from outside 6th form common room.
View from front teachers car park, lower gate.
Lower front gate entrance.
Same as it always was.
The Hall, an addition to the original building and the new entrance doors and rails ! - sorry, but these doors are not an improvement.
An imposing site for any twelve year old, do you remember your first day ? Bins at the front entrance are a nice touch, makes you think, er, - rubbish !
The newly coloured entrance, note how it seamlessly complements the classic design of this historic building. Yes folks the lunatics are surely well and truly in charge of the asylum.
That bit of wall outside the entrance is legendary, where many an arse has sat, unfortunately looking at it now it all looks a bit sad, if walls could talk eh !
Many thanks to Rob Stockton for all the photos, it is much appreciated.
